Hi Chris,

We are gathering the visual stimuli for one of our first planned experiments. It will high resolution images of 16th century Italian paintings.

Do you have a minimum resolution that you recommend for stimuli?

Thanks
Alex

Hi Alex,

No, I don’t have any specific recommendations for image size. If you’re concerned about how the images will look, I’d recommend viewing them on a display with the same resolution as you’ll be using to present them with MWorks. If they look OK there, they should look fine when shown by MWorks, too.

I would caution against using images that are unnecessarily large, as they will be slower to load and use more graphics memory than smaller images. If you’re viewing the images on the Mac Preview app, be sure they’re scaled to “Actual Size”. When viewed this way, ideally the images should be around the maximum size you think you’ll want to display.

I hope that helps!

Chris

Hi Chris,

Yes this is just what I was wondering and matches my impression.

Thanks
Alex
