# macOS Big Sur?

Hi Chris -
Our new mac tower (for Rig 2) came with macOS Big Sur installed.
Any MWorks compatibility issues with that OS? If not - I’ll upgrade our other tower too.

Hi Yasmine,
MWorks itself runs fine on Big Sur. However, as we’ve [discussed elsewhere](https://mworks.tenderapp.com/discussions/problems/523#comment_49205009), the VPixx applications (PyPixx and VPutil) don’t work on Big Sur. Last time I tried, they wouldn’t even launch.
This doesn’t apply to MWorks’ DATAPixx interface, which _does_ work on Big Sur. The [VPixx Device Server](https://mworks.tenderapp.com/discussions/problems/523#comment_49208937) also appears to work correctly, so if we end up modifying the DATAPixx interface to use that, Big Sur should still be OK. It’s just the VPixx apps that have problems.

Good to know. I had totally forgotten about VPixx apps and Big Sur. But
glad MWorks has no issues. I care less about the VPixx apps at the moment.
