Grating Speed

Hi Chris,

Please guide me through my question.

I am trying to setup an experiment with moving grating. There is a property called “speed” in inspector of “Drifting Grating Stimulus”. I am wondering if this property sets the “temporal frequency” of sinusoidal grating in Hz or it is just the speed of moving the stimulus in “deg/sec”. From what I see on the screen it is the speed in “deg/sec” but I want to check it with you.

Hi Sina,

Your assessment is correct. The “speed” parameter sets the speed, in degrees per second, at which the grating drifts across the display.
