Dear MWorks team
I am seriously considering MWorks for my new monkey neurophysiology lab in Newcastle.
What hardware will I need to get started to train a monkey on a standard visual task involving eye movement responses?
Thanks,
Michael
Hi Michael,
What hardware will I need to get started to train a monkey on a standard visual task involving eye movement responses?
The only hardware required to run MWorks is a Mac running OS X 10.8 or later, preferably one with a discrete graphics chipset (i.e. one made by NVIDIA or AMD).
I assume you’re asking about I/O hardware support? Out of the box, there’s a fairly limited number of devices supported:
- Eye tracking: EyeLink 1000 and EyeLink II
- General-purpose I/O: National Instruments DAQs, ITC-18
- USB HID input devices (keyboards, gamepads, etc.)
- Mouse/touchscreen input
You can add support for other hardware by writing MWorks plugins.
Does that answer your question?
Cheers,
Chris Stawarz
Thanks! That answers it for now, Michael
