Hi Chris -
I’d like to circle back to the idea of finding an analog-to-digital converter to bring in Eyelink’s analog GAZE data into MWorks.
I know National Instruments no longer supports MacOS. I remember you suggested the VPixx, but there was an issue of timelag there (also it would be $7k extra to enable digital I/O on our monitors). Any other devices that could serve as an appropriate Analog-to-Digital Converter?
Thanks,
Yasmine
Hi Yasmine,

Really? I wouldn’t think lag would be an issue. Can you explain?
Agreed that $7K is a lot just to add analog I/O.
Any other devices that could serve as an appropriate Analog-to-Digital Converter?
MWorks is in kind of an awkward place right now regarding analog I/O. The traditional DAQ devices we support, NIDAQ and ITC-18, are no longer supported on macOS and no longer available for sale at all, respectively. While the Firmata interface does support analog input, none of the Firmata-compatible boards I’m familiar with have DAQ-quality ADC capabilities.
The device I would like to recommend is the LabJack T7. The only reason I can’t recommend it at the moment is that I haven’t finished implementing an MWorks interface for it. I could probably have it done in relatively short order (next 1-2 months), but it isn’t something you could use right now.
