I’ve been playing around with the folders for organizing variables. These are great and help a lot with keeping parameters straight. However, it currently puts the folders in a random order in the variables window- is there any way to set the order?

No, there’s no way to control the order of variable groups at present, but we can change that. How would you like the groups to be ordered (e.g. alphabetically, order of appearance in the experiment file, etc.)?
