MWorks + Mojave question

Hi Chris,

We recently upgraded several of our rigs to Mojave 10.14.6. On those rigs, MWorks now orders the variable sets in the dropdown by creation date instead of alphanumerically. Our rig on High Sierra 10.13.6 is still sorted alphanumerically though. All rigs are running on the same version of MWorks (0.10dev, 20190625). Do you know if/how we can change the sort order?

Thanks,
Anna

Hi Chris,

Wanted to chime in a bit.
This may seem like not a big issue, but we can be highly sensitive to the sort order. We often have a few dozen variable sets going at the same time (we sync the var sets across experimental rigs, and we have 12 rigs which each run a few animals daily).
So if it is possible to fix this, I think it would improve our quality of life with MWorks somewhat.

thanks,
Mark

Hi Anna & Mark,

MWorks now orders the variable sets in the dropdown by creation date instead of alphanumerically.

I’m actually seeing arbitrary ordering. This isn’t unexpected, as MWorks doesn’t do any ordering of variable set names. If they used to be ordered alphanumerically, that was purely by chance.

I can certainly update MWClient to always present the variable set names in alphanumeric order. However, to see that change, you’ll need to upgrade to a nightly build that has it. I don’t think there’s any way to alter the ordering in the MWorks build you’re currently running.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris,

That sounds great to me, thank you!

Anna

This change is now in the nightly build.
