Hello Chris,

I’m in the process of upgrading to the new MWorks 0.4.4 and I’ve read through the release notes but I have a question:

The old MWorks created a folder /Library/MonkeyWorks/ with a subfolder /local/ that contained setup_variables.xml. That folder appears to no longer exist and a search doesn’t located any file with the same name. Where are the setup variables stored now?

P.S. Where should I post such questions in the future? This doesn’t really seem like an issue that requires a “ticket” that should be intermingled with the other issues, but might be useful to archive.

The setup_variables.xml file now lives in /Library/Application Support/MWorks/Configuration/. (The installer creates it if it doesn’t already exist, so I don’t know why your search came up empty.) You can copy your old one to that location and use it unmodified. Alternatively, you can start fresh using one of the two examples in the examples subdirectory, although there’s probably no reason to do so.

Hopefully, the upgrade will go smoothly, but if you run into other issues, please let me know!

My preference is for all support requests to go through Tender. They’re much easier to keep track of that way, and they become part of a public, searchable archive that benefits all users. (If you ever have a request that you don’t want to be public, you can mark it private in the submission form, which means that only support staff (i.e. me and Dave) can see it.)
