Hi Chris,
If I’m running an experiment remotely, where does MWorks look for stimulus files - the server computer, or the client computer? It seems like to get this to work I have to have the files on both computers in identical directories.
Thanks,
Evan
Hi Evan,
As part of loading the experiment, MWorks copies any needed files (images, sounds, etc.) from the client machine to a temporary directory on the server machine. MWServer then uses the server-side copies.
Cheers,
Chris
That makes sense, but do you know why I could be getting an error when I
remove the files from the server directory prior to loading? I can’t get it
to work unless the files are already there.
No, I don’t know why that would be happening. Can you send me some of the error messages you’re getting?
Chris
Hi Evan,
As we discussed offline, it looks like the issue here is that you’re giving MWorks absolute paths to your files, and it isn’t handling them correctly. I’ll figure out why this is happening and see how we can fix it.
Cheers,
Chris
