Parsing data files

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your advice on the eye tracker calibration stuff. I am now trying to parse data files from mworks, or at least get to the point where I can grep through them for events. I was reading some of the old support forum posts about it and I’m not exactly sure which script I should run and what its usage is. I also tried installing the many years old pymworks package (the 2011 one by Ha Hong) and am having issues with its makefile.

Thanks,

Simon

Hi Simon,

I am now trying to parse data files from mworks, or at least get to the point where I can grep through them for events. I was reading some of the old support forum posts about it and I’m not exactly sure which script I should run and what its usage is.

There’s a section on extracting data from event files in the newly-updated, pre-release docs for MWorks 0.8.

If you just want to take a quick look at the contents of an event file, I’ve attached “dump events” scripts (in Python and MATLAB) that take the name of an event file and print its contents.

I also tried installing the many years old pymworks package (the 2011 one by Ha Hong) and am having issues with its makefile.

That’s not something I support, so I can’t help you with it.

Cheers,
Chris
