Here Jaime from Fribourg university. We want use mworks together with a Tobii device (Tx300) for eye tracking.
I started looking at the online manuals but I couldn’t find if there is an existing plug in to be able to use mworks with Tobii.
Hence my question is: how can I output the signals from tobii, in order to use it with mworks
There is no existing MWorks plugin for communicating with Tobii devices. Tobii does provide a macOS-compatible software development kit (SDK), which should allow us to create a plugin comparable to the MWorks EyeLink interface.
One potential issue: It looks like the TX300 has been discontinued, and the SDK info doesn’t list it as a supported device. Probably it is still supported, but you should confirm that with the Tobii folks.
We wrote to Tobii and apparently the device is still supported. Then, could you please develop a plug in to interface mworks with this device?
Many thanks in advance
Yes, I can, although it will take a while. Given my current work load, I’d guess that it will be at least 6 months (possible longer) before I could get this done.
Also, since I won’t have the hardware on hand for testing, you or someone else on your end will need to do a significant amount of testing and debugging to get the interface working. I could provide remote guidance and support for such testing (e.g. via Zoom or Skype).
