Tobii once more :)

Hi! Im interested in using Tobii with MWorks. I read the previous threads on this topic, but from what I understood, the idea of developing the plug-in to support this system was abandoned in both cases. I was wondering if you’ve had a chance to work on it since then, and if not, would you be willing to try a third time  ?

thank you,

krys

Hi Krys,

I haven’t worked on a Tobii interface for MWorks, but it’s certainly something we could do. Is there a specific Tobii device you’d like to use?

Also, can I ask which lab you’re affiliated with?

Thanks,
Chris Stawarz

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your reply. We use Tobii Pro Fusion.

I work with Ilaria Sani at the University of Geneva, where we study humans. We also work with NHPs in collaboration with Michael Schmid’s lab at the University of Fribourg. We have a setup for the NHPs using MWorks and Eyelink. We would like to conduct some experiments with human participants on the same task, but we cannot use the Eyelink for that and need to use Tobii

Thank you,

krys

Hi Krys,

OK, great. The Pro Fusion is compatible with the Tobii Pro SDK, which provides a C API and supports macOS, and therefore can be used with MWorks.

Adding support for a new eye tracker is a pretty big project. When were you hoping to start using the Pro Fusion with MWorks?

Also, since I won’t have the hardware on hand for testing, you or someone else on your end will need to do a significant amount of testing and debugging to get the interface working. I could provide remote guidance and support for such testing (e.g. via Zoom).

Thanks,
Chris
